British Airways First-Class In-Flight Experience.

William Edwards Professional is among a select handful of British marque brands to partner with British Airways for its "Made by Britain" campaign to relaunch First-Class in its centenary year.

William Edwards was commissioned by the world-renowned airline to design and produce a bespoke range of fine bone china for its First-Class in-flight dining.

The chosen design, which went into service in March 2019, was inspired by the high-tech materials used within the First cabin interior, combining geometric weave imagery and texture, which has been expertly styled onto the tableware using the latest ceramic finishes of silver mica and raised white enamels.

Working very closely with the senior Food & Beverage team at British Airways' Headquarters, each item in the range delivers a five-star food service experience on which to serve the newly designed à la carte menus, championing British produce.

A unique 'afternoon tea for one' stand has also been created to provide the airline's new 'signature' afternoon tea in a truly contemporary format.

Speaking about the relaunch, Carolina Martinoli, British Airways' Director of Brand and Customer Experience, said: "Our teams of designers, chefs and customer service experts have carefully thought through the details we know matter most to our customers. We've sought out some of the best British designers and manufacturers to work with to ensure travelling in First with British Airways is an unforgettable experience."

William Edwards Professional has also been commissioned by Belmond Group to create the onboard chinaware collection for the exclusive Grand Hibernian train, Ireland.

The unique designs have been selected for the dining service throughout the entire train.

The restaurant china uses a raised Celtic white motif with a contemporary platinum edge, while the tea service is 'Reed', one of the William Edwards Signature Collections.
